Amendment 5 passed with more than 60 percent of the vote in Tuesday night's primary election.
Amendment 5 confirms that the right to bear arms is an "unalienable" right.
Missouri state law already protects the right to bear arms for defense purposes.
The U.S. Constitution also grants American's ability to keep and bear arms.
