Wild Weather Keeps Missourians on Edge

(HARRISON COUNTY, Mo.) No major damage was reported after severe storms moved through northern Missouri Monday.

Some trees were knocked down in the Liberty area and a roof was blown off a building at 1170 Kansas Ave. No one was inside the office building when winds ripped off the roof.

A tornado warning was issued for parts of Jackson, Clay and Ray counties after radar indicated a tornado was near Liberty about 9:30 p.m. Monday. The warning was allowed to lapse by 10 p.m.

Severe storms brought heavy rain, high winds and small hail. Some power outages were reported and trees knocked down.

A tornado skipped over parts of northwest Missouri Monday evening including Gentry, Harrison and Mercer counties. No damage was reported.

Daviess, Grundy and Sullivan counties were included in a tornado warning issued about 8:15 p.m.
