A five-year levy approved by voters in 2009 is set to expire next summer.
Board of Education president Brad Haggard says board members have not yet talked about a timeline for attempting to get the levy renewed. However, he says "the sooner, the better" for getting it on a ballot.
Other district leaders say that community engagement committees will soon be formed to look at the hurdles to renewing the levy.
The district is currently embroiled in an FBI investigation and a state audit in addition to a civil suit brought against them by Chief Financial Officer Beau Musser.
Administrators have said without the levy money, deep staffing cuts would need to be made.
The district's budget for the 2014-15 school year is more than $120 million.
