Northwest Racks Up over 500 Yards in Win Over Fort Hays

The Bearcats led the Tigers 42-7 at halftime Saturday.
(HAYS, Kan.) Northwest Missouri State ran wild on Fort Hays State finishing with 282 rush yards in a 49-14 win.

The Bearcats (3-0, 2-0 MIAA) had their best showing of the season offensively scoring 42 first half points and 519 yards of total offense.

Billy Creason punched in a pair of scores for Northwest in the first quarter -- one from two yards out, the other from one -- to jump to a 14-0 lead.

The 'Cats doubled that in the second quarter. Creason ran in from three yards out late in the first half; he finished with 26 yards and three touchdowns on eight carries.

Quarterbacks Trevor Adams and Brady Bolles took turns gashing the Tigers defense. Bolles hit Reuben Thomas for a 40-yard touchdown to push the Bearcat lead to 21 points.

Adams came back later in the quarter hooking up with Bryce Young from 33 yards out and Clint Utter from 17. The senior finished the game 13-15 passing for 165 yards and a pair of scores. Bolles went 6-12 for 72 yards and a touchdown; he also added a six yard touchdown run late in the third quarter to cap the Northwest scoring at 49.

The Bearcat defense limited the Tigers to one touchdown each half, and forced three fumbles that were all recovered by Northwest.

The 'Cats return home September 28th for a contest against Nebraska-Kearney on Family Weekend.
