Anthony R. “Tony” Demuth, 62, St. Joseph, Missouri died Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 20, 1951 to Paul Franklin and Cleone Josephine (Reiter) Demuth in Independence, Iowa.
Mr. Demuth served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
He married Debbie Ziegler on May 20, 2000. She survives of the home.
He retired as a Carpenter with Local #110 for Brooner Construction Company. He also was a certified home inspector and operated his own business, Demuth Inspection Services.
He was a member of Faith United Church where he served in various leadership roles.
Tony enjoyed fishing, hunting, working with horses and building outdoor furniture for family and friends. Most of all he loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, David Demuth.
Survivors: Wife, Debbie Demuth; five children, Kimberly (Paul) Knowles, Matthew (Julie) Demuth, Stephanie (Clint) Tullos, Kali (Steven) Newcomer and Colin Hardin-Demuth; two step-children, Tommy Simpson and Jenni (Jeff) Butcher; eleven grandchildren; three brothers, James (Meriel) Demuth, Fritz (Marge) Demuth and Ronald (Sylvia) Demuth; and seven sisters, Barbara Sharp, Marilyn (Lynn) Schulte, Ruth Demuth, Teresa (Michael) Myers, Rose (Edward) Irlbeck, Susan Tarasi and Patricia (Randy) Glassell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service: 1:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment Whispering Pines Cremation Garden at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Flowers are appreciated and for those wishing to make a contribution, the family requests they be made to Faith United Church Building Fund.
