Betty was born on September 15, 1926 in Boonville, Missouri and raised in Versailles, MO. She graduated from high school in Lexington, MO and attended Central Missouri State University. Betty taught briefly at Union Star, MO and continued teaching privately throughout her life.
Betty married Thomas J. Price in 1948 and raised five children, Melody, Tommy, Kathy, Susie and Cindy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Ingalls and Myrtle May (Toler) Baker; her husband, Thomas J. Price.

Betty was a stalwart instrumentalist and vocalist for the Cameron Municipal Band for 4 decades and she served as business manager, secretary and treasurer. Betty was the church organist for 22 years at St. Munchin Catholic Church. Her performances as church organist, accompanist, entertainer and musician number in the thousands throughout Northwest Missouri. In 1998, she agreed to direct “The Entertainers”, a musical-variety troupe, to raise funds for the new Cameron Regional Medical Center. Betty helped designed the Thomas J. Price Pavilion in McCorkle Park completed in 2001. She also coordinated adult and continuing education for Wentworth Junior College programs in Cameron for 17 years. Betty was Cameron’s first lady Mayor, serving 4 terms. She was elected to the city council in 1984 and re-elected in 1987, 1990, 1996 and 1999 serving until 2002. During her term she served as President on the Northwest Missouri Municipal League and currently served on the Cameron Regional Foundation Board. She was also a member of the women’s sorority Laureate Gamma Beta of Beta Sigma Phi for many years. In 2004, Betty was awarded the Service to Mankind Award by the Cameron Sertoma Club. Betty resided in and preserved one of Cameron’s most historic homes built in 1889 at 403 S. Chestnut for 44 years.

Burk, St. Louis, MO, Valerie Sue (Steven D) Robinson, Camdenton, MO and Cynthia Louise (Thomas) Svehla, Liberty, MO; grandchildren, Brian (Joie) Connors, Jennifer (Chris Vandersloot) DeVan, Nate (Cara) DeVan, Jeffrey Connors, Katee (Willard) Ridenour, Annie Sudgen, Ashley Murrell, Rick (Sarah) Dodson, Mike (Amanda) Dodson, Shelley McDermott, Cherry Macharia, Krista Burk, Megan (Tia Bernard) Baldridge, Zach Robinson, Kyle Robinson and Kaitlin Robinson.; great-grandchildren, Grace, Ellie, Henry and Hadley Connors, Miranda Shubert, Grace Shubert and Vivienne Simphaly; brother, John Baker, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: 4:00 PM, Sunday, January 26, 2014 at the Cameron United Methodist Church. Visitation: 3-4:00 PM, prior to the service at the church.
