Betty Jo (Keys) Steva, 80, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014 at her home.
Mrs. Steva was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 12, 1934 to Troy and Gladys (Nichols) Keys. She was of the Christian faith. Betty Jo graduated from Paseo High School of Kansas City in 1952 and attended Business College for two years.
Over the years she worked for IMCO Container Corporation of Kansas City, Sears, H.D. Lee, Chrysler/Plymouth Dealer and Salvation Army of St. Joseph, Missouri. In 1999 she retired from Bayer Corporation as a plasma processor/cashier. She was a member of the Moila Wrecketts and enjoyed theater and movies.
On March 29, 1953, she married her high school sweetheart John R. Steva, in Kansas City, Missouri. Mr. Steva passed away November 11, 1998.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Eugene Keys.
Survivors: son, John R. Steva, Jr. (Tracy), Kansas City, Missouri; daughter, Connie Steva, Loveland, Colorado; grandchildren, Shannon Dugan (Shaun), Jerrad Morton (Breanne) and Zachary Morton (Sara); great-grandchildren, Zoe, Blake, Kathryn, Jackson, Elizabeth and Taylor; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services & Inurnment: 1:00 P.M. Saturday, Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Horigan Chapel. The family suggests memorials to Shriner’s Hospital for Children. Online guest book and obituary at www.meierhoffer.com.
