Betty Lou Wiedmaier was born in Lincoln Nebraska on the twenty-first day of September 1927 to Albert and Edna Wiedmaier.
Betty Lou Wiedmaier was born in Lincoln Nebraska on the twenty-first day of September 1927 to Albert and Edna Wiedmaier.

On October 9, 1948 she became the bride of Bernard Eugene Gerstner, Sr. at St. Patrick’s Church St. Joseph, Missouri.

Betty graduated from the Sacred Heart Convent in 1945.

Betty and Bernard had a life full of travel while Bernard served his country in the US Navy. The couple lived in Memphis, Tennessee, Jacksonville, Florida, San Diego, California and Honolulu, Hawaii before retiring in Missouri in 1998.

Betty was a devout Catholic and praying the rosary every day.

Betty was preceded in death by husband, Bernard E. Gerstner, Sr. and Son, John W. Gerstner.

Survivors include children, Linda (Max) VanDyke and Bernard (Robyne) Gerstner, Jr, Daughter-in-Law, Mary Gerstner, of St. Joseph, MO.

Betty leaves five grandchildren and six great grandchildren who will miss her sweet smile and loving touch.

Prayer Service 10:00 AM Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Visitation will begin after 12:00 Noon Friday at our chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday evening. Parish Rosary 6:30 PM Friday at our chapel.

The family suggests memorial contributions to M’Shoogy’s Animal Rescue.
