He was a lifelong resident of Platte City, and active member of the First Baptist Church of Platte City, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. Georgie was previously employed in local grain mills, and worked for several years as warehouse manager for Sony Corp. in Kansas City, until his retirement in 1992; but he primarily considered himself a farmer. He loved farming and gardening, and was well known throughout the community for his generosity with the fruits of his labor. Georgie was a member and judge for the K.C. BBQ Society, enjoyed feeding the birds, was a “clown for Jesus” at many community locations, member of the Emery Wheels square dance club, and was Santa Claus at the Platte County Courthouse for many years.

Georgie is survived by: his son Lawrence (Deana) Anderson of Gower, MO; his daughters Marlene (Rick) Cline of Platte City, and Rhoda (Paul) Kelley of Rushville, MO; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
