Bob Stahlin, 78, St. Joseph, MO, passed away peacefully, Friday, January 24, 2014, with his children at his side.
Bob was born on March 9, 1935 in St. Joseph, MO, to James and Theresa (Nichols) Stahlin. He was a graduate of Christian Brothers High School and also attended University of Missouri and St. Joseph Junior College.
Mr. Stahlin served in the US Army from 1956 to 1958. He was involved in the restaurant industry, owning and operating Bun-O-Bef and Bun-O-Bef Plus, JB’s on the Mall, Loblolly’s, and many other endeavors.
Bob was a member of the American Legion #359. He was an avid bowler, sportsman and loved watching NASCAR.
Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Osborn (Mike McCormick), Denver, CO; son, Bob (Amy) Stahlin, Marshalltown, IA and daughter, Kelley Stahlin, St. Joseph, MO; six grandchildren, Kali (Jason Paulman) Osborn, Riley Osborn, Tyler (Josie) Stahlin, Zachary Stahlin, Leah Stahlin, Austen Lawrence and great-granddaughter, Aubrie Osborn.
Mass of Memorialization 10:00 AM Friday, January 31, 2014 at Horigan Chapel. Inurnment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 9:00 AM Thursday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, where the family will receive friends 7:00-8:30 PM Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bishop LeBlond High School, 3529 Frederick Ave, St. Joseph, MO 64506. As a graduate of Christian Brothers High School, he was an avid supporter of Catholic Education.
