Dale H. Weston, 90, of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Carriage Square Health Care Center surrounded by his family.
Dale was born and raised in Graham, Missouri and graduated from Graham High School. He began farming in the Mound City, Missouri area then started his career at Beaty’s which is now Affiliated Foods, Inc. He moved to St. Joseph in 1958 and became a foreman and city driver at Affiliated Foods, Inc. He retired after 31 years then drove for Helen Davis School as a bus driver for 13 years.
Dale loved to sing and golf, and 2 times, he got a hole in one. He lived for his family and loved each one of them. He was a member of Woodson Chapel Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon and sang in the choir.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Anthony “Tony” Weston, grandson, Larry Williams, Jr., great-grandson, Allen Kerns, his first wife, who passed in 1980, Mildred Miller-Weston, his 2nd wife, Forrest Crockett-Weston, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Dale married Doris Eyman on September 13, 1992 in Branson, Missouri. She survives of the home.
Additional surviving family includes sons, Richard (Connie) Weston, Larry (Wanda) Weston and Billy (Connie) Weston, daughters, Linda (Larry) Williams, Donna (Ralph) Kerns, all of St. Joseph; Cheri (Carl) Chenoweth, Amazonia, MO; and Robynn (Mike) Atkison, also of St. Joseph; step-son, Stephen Guthery, Kansas City, MO; step-daughter, Cheryl Whicker, St. Joseph; 25 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren sisters, Wanda (Robert) Davis, Marcine (Gilbert) Blume and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services 10:00 AM Tuesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment Graham Cemetery, Graham, Missouri.
Visitation will begin after 12:00 Noon Monday at our chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday evening.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Woodson Chapel Christian Church.
