Edward “Mike” Wareham, 66, Savannah, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at a local hospital.

Edward “Mike” Wareham, 66, Savannah, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at a local hospital.

Mike was born January 31, 1948 to Gerald and Phyllis (Snyder) Wareham in Seneca, Kansas. He graduated from Hiawatha High School and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Kansas State University.

Mike married Terry Chaney on May 23, 1974 in Hiawatha, she survives of the home. He was a manager for Country Squire and had previously worked at the Saint Joseph News-Press/Gazette and the Topeka Capital Journal.

Mike loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and camping. Most of all, he loved his son and grandchildren.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents.

Additional survivors include son, Brian and wife, Natalie, Savannah; grandchildren, Corbin and Lane; great-grandchildren, Gracelynn and Samuel; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial service 2 pm, Tuesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel, Savannah, Missouri. Mr. Wareham has been cremated.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
