Gerald “Jake” Wayne Brock, 55, of St. Joseph, passed away unexpectedly Friday April 18, 2014 at a local hospital.

Gerald “Jake” Wayne Brock, 55, of St. Joseph, passed away unexpectedly Friday April 18, 2014 at a local hospital.

Jake was born June 25, 1958 to Gerald Lee and Marion (Ziolkowski) Brock in St. Joseph, where he resided his entire life.

On November 5, 1977 he married Shelly Ann Myers.

In 1978 he graduated from Benton High School. He was a career construction worker.  He was also a Christian.  His hobbies included hunting and fishing.

Preceding him in death is his wife Shelly on November 9, 1995 and his mother Marion on September 11, 2005.

Survivors include son, Mike (Amanda) Brock of St. Joseph and Melinda (DJ) Rheppard of Mammoth Springs, Arkansas; brother Mark (Kathy) Brock, of St. Joseph and sister Elaine (Ed) Parks of Midland, Texas; four grandchildren, Dayton and Raven Brock and Legend and Killian Smith.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home with interment following in Mt. Auburn Cemetery.  Pastor Dave Mejia officiating.  Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. Monday at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
