James “LeRoy” Hamilton, 95, St. Joseph, Missouri died Monday, March 3, 2014 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

James “LeRoy” Hamilton, 95, St. Joseph, Missouri died Monday, March 3, 2014 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

He was born January 1, 1919 to James and Ruth (Young) Hamilton in Bedford, Iowa.

He married Margaret Speer, January 4, 1945.

LeRoy proudly served as a Master Sergeant in the Army during World War II.  He worked at Stuppy’s Flower Company for 27 years and later at Wyeth Company for 10 years until his retirement.

He loved his Country music and also played guitar.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and camping with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors: wife of 69 years, Margaret; brother, Lloyd Hamilton; and all of his loving nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service and Interment:  10:00 A.M. Friday, Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 5:00 P.M.
