Jesse A. Marriott, 89, of St. Joseph, MO, left this life on April 3, 2014 at his home, surrounded by loved ones.

Jesse A. Marriott, 89, of St. Joseph, MO, left this life on April 3, 2014 at his home, surrounded by loved ones.

Jesse was born on July 18, 1924 to Almon and Eula (Collins) Marriott and raised by father and his step-mother Mary Marriott.

He graduated from Benton high school in 1943 and went straight into the Army where he served as a Paratrooper. He married Mary Lou Farley in 1945 and they were married for 42 years and had three children. Jess was a union electrician for IBEW Local 545 for 67 years, he was also a member of the American Legion Post #359, and the King Hill Lodge #376. He married Jean Crabtree in June 1992 and had a full active life of dancing, fishing, hunting, cruises and going to the senior citizen center. They enjoyed whatever life brought them. With this marriage his family increased by 4 more children, numerous grandchildren and great grand children.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Donnie Lambright and step-daughter, Karen (Crabtree) Olivia.

Survivors include wife, Jean of the home, his children, Roger (Bobbie) Marriott, Jeanne (Terry) Crews, Jennifer (Chris) Naylor; six grandchildren, Andrea Toomay, Miki Harris, Cydney Ham, Cris Ray, Dana Thompson, Colton Naylor; and 9 great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his extended family; Redgy Crabtree, Linda (Al) Paden, Marcia Crabtree; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Jess was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by everyone in his family.

The family wishes to thank the Hands of Hope Hospice for their kind and caring service to Jess.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 AM Monday,at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Rev. James Barnett officiating. The Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery, the family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Sunday at the Rupp Funeral Home.

Memorials are requested to the Hands of Hope Hospice.
