John Chancie Carman 77, of Amazonia, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the Cameron Veterans home.
John Chancie Carman 77, of Amazonia, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the Cameron Veterans home.

He was born January 23, 1937 in Lavonia, MO, son of Mabel and John Thomas Carman.

He graduated from Unionville high school. He married Debbie on December 30, 1990 in Unionville and she survives of the home. He served in the Navy and is a veteran of the Vietnam War serving 4 1/2 tours, and retiring after 25 year 11 months and 17 days as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He was a member of the American Legion of Amazonia, MO, VFW Post 12053, Amazonia, he enjoyed raising horses, playing Golf, Bowling, and was a member of South Park Assembly of God.

John was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Bill, Clifford, Franklin, David, & Paul Carman, and a sister Janet Carman.

Survivors include, wife, Debbie Lou Carman of the home, and seven children: Patricia Carman-Kowalski and companion Ed Mautino of Rosendale, MO, Joanne (David) Paolino of St. Joseph, Milesa (Jim) Speranza of Raytown, John Thomas Carman II and companion Denise Silleck of Lees Summit, MO, Laura (Brian) Johnson of Fillmore, MO, Sarah Lawson of Amazonia, and Paige Carman and companion Chanse Osborn of Amazonia, 16, grandchildren, 10, great grandchildren, four brothers, Charles Carman of Unionville, MO, Tom (Charlotte) Carman of Martinstown, MO, James (Alice) Carman of Wheatland, and Keith Carman of Unionville, five sisters, Rosetta (Ron) McKin of Kirksville, MO, Lela, Kathy (Darrell) Thompson of Iowa, Joan Nordstrom of Amazonia, MO, and Ann (Keith) Shore of St. Joseph, MO.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am, on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Rupp Funeral Home, with Pastor Sharon Spiegel officiating, The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Hartford Cemetery, Hartford, Missouri at 2:00 PM Saturday with Full Military honors under auspices of the United States Navy.
