Mary Rosalie “Rose” Wells, 74, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away peacefully Friday, June 6, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family and caregivers.

Mary Rosalie “Rose” Wells, 74, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away peacefully Friday, June 6, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family and caregivers.

She was born January 22, 1940 to Fred and Thelma (Womack) Kerwin in Ravenwood, Missouri.

Rose married Jerry Wells on January 9, 1959. He preceded her in death in 1994.

She was a homemaker until starting to work for the Saint Joseph News Press in the Circulation Department from 1983 until retirement in 2010.

She loved being around her family and friends.  She was cherished by so many.  Dancing to country and western music was one of her favorite pastimes.

The family would like to personally thank Comfort Of Home HealthCare for taking such passionate and loving care of Rose over the last three years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Brenda Michelle “Shelly” Schubert, son, Kyle Dean Wells.

Survivors: son Kevin Wells ( Janet ), daughters Kerri Pettijohn ( Tony ) and Stacie Root ( Jim ) all of St. Joseph, MO. Two brothers, Gary Kerwin ( Raylene ) of Parnell, MO and Marlin Kerwin of Dearborn, MO. Nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren , nieces and nephews

Services:  10:00 A.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 5:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
