Paul “P.K.” Kirkpatrick, 90, Country Club Village, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at a local health care center.

Paul “P.K.” Kirkpatrick, 90, Country Club Village, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at a local health care center.

P.K. was born March 30, 1924 in Carrolltown, Pennsylvania to Elmer and Margaret (McNulty) Kirkpatrick.

He married Dorothy Grace Bishop on April 10, 1947, she preceded him in death on August 30, 2007.

P.K. started in the construction industry in the 1940’s. He worked for Land Construction from 1953 to 1980. He started as Vice President for Herzog Construction in 1982, where he worked until his retirement in 1988.

P.K. also owned and operated Dog & Suds from 1966 to 1971.

P.K. was a member of First Lutheran Church, American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

P.K. was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Bill Kirkpatrick; and grandson, Chad Utterback.

Survivors include sons, Tom Kirkpatrick, Simi Valley, California, Gary (Zena) Kirkpatrick, Lake Havasu City, Arizona; daughter, Pamela Kirkpatrick, St. Joseph, Missouri; St. Joseph grandsons, Taylor Utterback, G. P. Kirkpatrick; 11 other grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Services 1:30 pm, Saturday at First Lutheran Church, 10th & Charles. Visitation will began after 12 noon, Friday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday evening. Entombment Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, Brain Trauma Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
