William A. Hare, 82, Fillmore, MO passed from this life on Monday, March 31, 2014 at Living Community, St. Joseph, MO. He was born on August 7, 1931 south of Fillmore to Wyman and Hilda (Ueligger) Hare.

William served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and served Andrew County for 8 years as the Deputy Clerk and 32 years as the Collector of Revenue. He married Nancy Jones on April 14, 1956. They had two children William Wakefield Hare and Jennifer Lodimah (Hare) Schuster. He was a member of the Fillmore Christian Church, Dick Munkres American Legion Post #287, and was a lifetime member of the VFW.
 

Survivors include his wife, Nancy, of the home, one daughter, Jennifer & Roger Schuster; Wichita, KS; one daughter-in-law, Trudy Hare-Gay; six grandchildren, Erica Hare (Joe) Wheeler, Jessica Hare (John) French, Lauren Schuster (Mitch) Bales, Joseph (Katie) Schuster, Wakefield (Sara) Hare, Samantha Schuster; seven great-grandchildren, Wyman, Brewer, Hilde Wheeler, Emma, Amelia French, Billie, Hanner Hare; two sisters, Helen Ferguson, St. Joseph, MO, Carol Ann (Clinton) White, Peachtree City, Georgia; nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by his parents, his son, William W. Hare, and brother-in-law, Waldo Ferguson.


Celebration of Life will be held 10 AM Friday, April 4, 2014, at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah, MO. Interment will be in Fillmore Cemetery, Fillmore, MO. Public visitation and family receiving hours: 6 to 8 PM Thursday, at the Funeral Home.
