Daniel Gregory Linley, 67, of Brandon, Mississippi, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Crossgate River Oak Hospital in Brandon.

A visitation will be held 6:30 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston, MO.

Graveside services, with military honors, will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Weston.

The family suggests contributions be given to: Doc Livingston Farms—3434 Mahffey Dr.—Pearl, MS 39208.

Daniel was born September 25, 1946 in Topeka, KS to Alan Gregory and Mary Alice (Graham) Linley.

He was raised, and attended high school in Atchison, KS. Daniel served his country in the U.S. Airforce as a weather forecaster for pilots. After his Airforce service, Daniel returned to Atchison where he worked for Bromley & Sons Quarry & Asphalt. He later worked 17 years for Herzog Contracting Corp. in St. Joseph, MO from 1978 until 1995. Daniel then went to Bella Vista, Arkansas, where he worked for Hutchens Construction until 2003, where he finally worked as Vice President for Superior Asphalt in Byram, MS for the last 11 years. Daniel was a member of Elks Lodge #647 of Atchison; past president and board member of Mississippi Asphalt Pavement Association; and board member of Missouri Asphalt Association. He also enjoyed flying as a private pilot, enjoyed boating, and was an avid classic car enthusiast.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister Deborah Linley Wiltz.

He is survived by: his wife Penny Calvert Linley of the home; his eldest daughter Stacia McCann, and her husband Jeff, and grandchildren Alyssa, Lola and Cash of Frisco, TX; his twin son and daughter, Dr. Preston Linley, and his wife April, and grandchildren Parker and Layla Bell of Walbridge, OH; and Chandra Larson, and her husband Jeff, and grandchildren Ander, Adaline and A.J. of Frisco, TX. Daniel is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
