Dorothy W. Aebersold, 91, Overland Park, KS; formerly of St. Joseph and Savannah, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013.
Dorothy was born on November 28, 1921 to Norman and Elisabeth Hurst in the farming community of Andrew County. She was a 1940 graduate of Rosendale High School.
Dorothy married Donald R. Aebersold on September 7, 1941 in Olathe, KS. From 1941-1965 they farmed east of Rosendale. They moved to St. Joseph in 1967
Mrs. Aebersold retired from Methodist Hospital after 16 years of service. Dorothy was baptized a Christian. She was a 4-H Leader in cooking and sewing. She enjoyed gardening and always made her homemade noodles and angel food cake for every birthday. She loved to dance and regularly attended the Saturday night dances at the Andrew County and St. Joseph Senior Centers.
Dorothy is survived by her daugther, Donna L. Campbell, Overland Park, KS; brother, Willis Hurst, Hutchison, KS; 3 granddaughters, Kim Rollins, Kay Dresel, Lisa Baker; 2 grandsons, Matthew Campbell and Andrew Campbell; 11 great-grandchildren, Mallory and Ben Dresel, Josh Rollins, Keith and Kevin Baker, Michael and Alyssa Campbell, Andrew Jr., Nikolas, Hunter and Madison Campbell; 3 great-great grandchildren, Jacob, Hunter and Evan Dresel.
Mrs. Aeberold was preceded in death by her husband, Donald on November 21, 1971, her parents and a daughter, Doris Aebersold.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 PM Saturday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel, 307 South 6th Street, Savannah, Missouri. The family will then receive friends and relatives at the Andrew County Senior Center, 101 South 4th Street, Savannah Missouri from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday evening. Private Interment at Savannah Cemetery at a later date.
