Ellis R. Beauchamp, 82 years old, Sherman, Texas, formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ Hospital.
He was born December 25, 1931 in Gentry County, Missouri to James Albert Beauchamp and Myrtle (James) Beauchamp.
He attended Albany High School, then joined the United States Air Force from 1949-1952 and served in the Korean War.
Ellis married Yvonna Lee Hawman on September 23, 1956 in Dekalb County, Clarksdale, Missouri and were married for 57 years.
Mr. Beauchamp and his wife owned and operated Ellis Superette in Clarksdale, Missouri. He later worked at ADT for twenty-one years and retired in 1990. He was a member of Central Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debra Beauchamp Halbirt; brothers, Eldon, Herbert and Clarence Beauchamp; father-in-law, Kenneth Hawman; mother-in-law, Glenna Hawman; and sisters, Elizabeth Carlock Angle and Estelle Fletchall.
Survivors: wife, Yvonna of Sherman, Texas; son, Duane Beauchamp (Tracy), Sherman, Texas; granddaughters, Madison and Morgan Beauchamp, Sherman, Texas; grandson, Nichalas Halbirt; great-grand-daughter, Elizabeth Halbirt, Tolleson, Arizona; brother, Shelby Beauchamp (Norma), Albany, Missouri; nephew, who was more like a son, Jack Carlock,(Rachel), Edgewater, Florida; special granddaughter, Stacie Welte (Jamie); their daughter, Lucille Elizabeth Welte, Pleasant Hill, Missouri; numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins; aunt, Lyla Faye Chambers, Blue Springs, Missouri; and a host of friends and loved ones.
Services: 3:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Flowers are appreciated and for those wishing to make a contribution, the family requests they be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
