Gordon was born on October 5, 1949 in Horton, Kansas to Cecil & Margaret (Schuetz) Kimsey.

Gordon was a member of the American Legion Post #161, V.F.W. Post #5531, St. Joseph Catholic Church and K of C all of Wathena, Kansas. He served in Vietnam in the U.S. Army & awarded the Bronze Service Star, National Defense Service Medal & Campaign Medal with 60 Device. Gordon loved to bowl and belong to a bowling league, where he bowled his 300 games.

He married Shirley Helmstetter on May 27, 1972 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Bendena, Kansas. She survives of the home. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents & a brother, Ronald Kimsey.

Additional survivors include: daughter, Susan (Lance) Hayes of Troy, Kansas son, Ronald Kimsey of Troy, Kansas grandchildren, Courtney Wainscott (Evan), Conner, Zoey & Mason Hayes great-grandchildren, Cayden & Easton Wainscott sisters, Easter Hall (Chuck) of Appleville, California Dee Harding (Bob) of Gladstone, Missouri Joan Teabeu (Mike) of St. Louis, Missouri Rita Ervin (Pat) of Parker, Colorado Alice Lively (Doug) of Woodsdale, Illinois numerous nieces & nephews

MASS: Saturday, November 30, 2013 - 10:00 A.M. at: St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wathena Burial will be 2:00 Saturday, at the St. Peter’s Cemetery in Mercier, Kansas, with full Military Honors under the auspices of the American Legion Post #161 of Wathena, Kansas. The body will be moved to St. Joseph Catholic Church Friday at 5 PM. There will be a Rosary at the Church at 5:30 PM followed by visitation from 6-8 PM.
