Jack Henry Otten 85, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013 at his home.

He was born June 9, 1928 in Saint Joseph, MO, son of Marie and George Otten.

He graduated from Benton High School in 1947 and played in the 1946 Peanut Bowl. He was very active in all high school sports. He served in the United States Army. He Owned & operated Otten Furniture and Hardware, then worked for the City of St. Joseph public works department retiring 2013 as a Lot Attendant. Jack was an animal lover & was known to take in strays, he also was an avid pool player & loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a Christian.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his wife wife, Mary Ann Otten, in 2012, a brother, George Otten who was killed in action during WWII.

Survivors include, a daughter, Gina Conaway and husband Kyle of Easton, MO, a granddaughter, Adlee Conaway, and a grandson, Cru Conaway, sister & brother in law, Norma (Carey) Saywell & Tom Saywell, two nieces, Julie (Son) Vo, Carey (Eric) Larson, a great niece, Olivia Larson all of Santa Monica.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am, on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Rupp Funeral Home, with Rev. Albert Shirley officiating, The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the Rupp Funeral Home.
