Judy A. Lamar, 74, of Dearborn, MO, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at K.U. Medical Center, Kansas City, MO.
Judy A. Lamar, 74, of Dearborn, MO, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at K.U. Medical Center, Kansas City, MO.

A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City; followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service, at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in the Platte City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be given to: ALS Association—Development Dept.—27081 Agoura Rd., Suite 250—Calabasas Hills, CA 91301, or to the Hillsboro Christian Church of Platte City, MO.

Judy was born March 13, 1939 in Platte County, MO to Noel and Margaret Louise (Brightwell) Simpson.

She was a lifelong resident of the Platte City area, and member of the Hillsboro Christian Church of Platte City, where she served as a past Sunday school teacher. Judy was a 1957 graduate of the Park Hill High School, and later attended business school in Kansas City.

She married Robert C. Lamar on April 3, 1959 in Platte County.

Judy worked for the electric company for 33 years beginning when it was known as Missouri Public Service, later becoming Aquila, and then K.C.P. & L. She also enjoyed cooking for her friends and family.

Judy was preceded in death by: her parents; her step father Forrest Kemphefner; and a sister Rhonda Mallonee.

Judy is survived by: her husband Robert, of the home; her son Robert Ray (Pam) Lamar of K.C., MO; her daughter Lori (Dennis) Samborski of Platte City; her brother Randy (Lisa Rairden) Simpson of Independence, MO; her sister Kay (Bob) Lindsey of Dearborn, MO; 4 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
