Larry P. May, 71, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at his home.
Larry was born on November 13, 1942 to Richard R. and Gladys D. (Montgomery) May in St. Joseph. He attended Bartlett School and graduated from Central High School in 1960. Larry then attended
Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Larry married Bonnie on August 12, 2005 in Denver, Colorado.
Larry served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a counselor at Family Guidance Center and retired from Wire Rope.
Larry was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and Keystone Lodge 173, Allah Temple #6 and TESTRAMS. He had a passion for motorcycles and benefit rides and enjoyed fishing.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry E. May; and brother, Donnie May.
Survivors include wife, Bonnie, of the home; children, Michael (Traci) May, Lori (Bridgette) May, Ronald (Diedra) May, Thomas (Lacretia) May; daughter-in-law, Nancy May; his first wife and mother of his children, Dorcie May; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.
Services 1pm, Tuesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Visitation will begin after 12 noon, Monday at our Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, with Masonic service at 7 pm, Monday evening. Mr. May will be cremated following the service.
The family suggests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society.
