Margaret B. Thompson, 94, of St. Joseph, Missouri died Friday, October 25, 2013 at a healthcare facility in Omaha, Nebraska, where she had resided the past ten months.
She was born March 8, 1919 to Ray and Bernice (Bougher) Jennings in St. Joseph, Missouri.
She married Donald “Dutch” Thompson on August 17, 1940. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1987.
Margaret was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church for many years, St. Joseph Bowler’s Hall of Fame, Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post #359, and volunteered at the former St. Joseph State Hospital.
She coached many youth bowlers and liked to play Pincohle, travel, quilt, sew and spend time with her family.
Mrs. Thompson was also preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Richard “Frosty” and David Thompson, and infant son, Danny; one sister; and 6 brothers.
Survivors: son, Dennis Thompson (Sherry), Omaha, Nebraska; grandsons, Scott Thompson, Michael Corkins, and Brenton Thompson (Brittany); granddaughters, Becci Martinez, Joanie Miller (David), Kathy Corkins, and Lyndsey Thompson; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Grace and Louise Morton; brothers, Jack Jennings (Barbara), Gene Jennings; daughter-in-law, Adelina “Sis” Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services: 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 5:30 P.M. Monday.
