Opal was born on September 30, 1919 in Troy, Kansas to Alfred and Jeanette (Roberton) Monroe. She was a lifelong resident of Troy.

Opal was a member of the First Christian Church in Troy.

She married Lloyd Ruhnke. He preceded her in death. She later married Roy Kiehnhoff, he also preceded her in death along with her parents, a daughter, Nancy Lee Cassidy, sister, Marguerite Dishon and a infant sister.

Survivors include; daughter, Linda Clary of Troy; son, Roger Ruhnke of Wathena, Kansas; 9 grandchildren, numerous great & great-great grandchildren & a nephew.

FUNERAL: 1:30 P.M. Saturday, October 26, 2013 at: First Christian Church in Troy, Kansas burial: Mount Olive Cemetery in Troy, Ks. Visitation: family will receive friends 6-8 Friday evening at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home in Troy, where friends may call after 3PM Thursday. Memorials: Kendallwood Hospice & First Christian Church
