Paul K. Ptomey 92, formerly of Troy, Kansas passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Wathena, Nursing & Rehab.

Paul was born on September 9, 1921 in Higland, Kansas to Benjamin Franklin & Minnie Rose (Downing) Ptomey.

Paul served in the U.S. Army in WWII & was a member of the VFW & the American Legion Post #55 both of Troy. He worked for the City of Troy & REA Light & Power for Troy & Sabetha.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James, Bob, Norman & Calvin Ptomey, sisters, Helen Ashworth, Evelyn Johnson, Blanche Peters & Esther Owens.

Survivors: sons, Roger Ptomey (Mona) of Faucett, Missouri; Paul K. Ptomey of San Angelo, Texas; Philip Ptomey (LeeAnn) of St. Joseph, Missouri; daughters, Kathy Young of Platte City, Missouri; Jacquelyn Hunt of St. Joseph, Missouri; 16 grandchildren. 25 great-grandchildren. numerous nieces & nephews.

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Thursday, January, 16, 2014 at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home in Troy, Kansas Visitation: 6-8 Wednesday evening at the funeral home, where friends may call after 12noon Tuesday. Burial: Mount Olive Cemetery, Troy, Kansas. Memorials: St. Judes Hospice of Hiawatha, Kansas.
