Scharlene M. Wilmes, 78, Savannah, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 at a local health care center.
Scharlene was born January 7, 1935 in Atchison, Kansas, to Ralph and Millie (Bellis) Burge. She was a graduate of Atchison High School.
Scharlene was married to Gene Wilmes in Estes Park, Colorado in 1979, he preceded her in death.
Scharlene was a laboratory technician for 15 years at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Scharlene loved to cook and won an award for being the “Best Cook on the Block”. She was also a HUGE Chiefs fan.
Scharlene was also preceded in death by her parents; and son, Jeff Eiman; brothers, Riley and Harold Burge; and nephew David Burge.
Survivors include son, Richard (Patti) Eiman; daughter, Lana Wells; all of Saint Joseph, Missouri; son, Scott (Barbie) Eiman, Chan Hassan, Minnesota;
nine grandchildren, Janelle, Bunny, Christopher, Jerod, Sara, Jessica, Jeff, April, Tyson; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services 6 pm, Saturday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel, Savannah, Missouri. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 5 to 6 pm at our Chapel. Private inurnment, in Savannah Cemetery, will be held at a later date.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Heartland Hands of Hope Hospice.
