Teresa Lynn Sloan, 52, St. Joseph, Missouri died Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 24, 1961 to Francis and Roseanne (Fosha) Kramer.
She graduated from Manhattan High School and Washburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked her entire nursing career at Leavenworth VA. She was nurse manager of the emergency room and out-patient clinics. Her last assignment was at St. Joseph Outreach Clinic. She medically retired in March 2011.
She enjoyed singing and was a member of the Kansas State Choir and traveled to perform in Russia. She also sang in Manhattan High School choir. She enjoyed motorcycling and owned and rode a Heritage Springer Harley Davidson. She was lifetime member of Harley Davidson Owner’s Group. Teresa was a member of Huffman Memorial United Methodist Church and was active in the church choir. Teresa had recently enjoyed and led some bible study classes.
October 20, 1991 she married Richard Sloan.
Survivors: husband; son, Robert (Sonja) Sloan; daughter, Susan (Phil) Sarver; five grandchildren, Sarah, Bobby, Lydia, Jacob, and Jackson, all of St. Joseph, Missouri; and sister, LeeAnn Kramer, Kansas City, Missouri; sister-in-law, Donna Hayes; and mother-in-law, Opal Sloan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Steven and Kyle.
Services: 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday. Flowers are appreciated and for those wishing to make a contribution, the family requests they be made to American Cancer Society or Huffman Memorial United Methodist Church.
