(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The last day of training camp for the Kansas City Chiefs brought a special salute to the armed forces.

As part of Military Appreciation Day, soldiers stationed at Fort Leavenworth and Fort Riley received VIP treatment Thursday morning.

They were invited to join a post-practice huddle with head coach Andy Reid and the rest of the team.

Staff Sgt. David Beaton said it was humbling, but exciting.

"To take time out of their busy schedule, their demanding schedule, with the season about to start and actually spend time with the troops and put this on for us, words can't describe it. I'm like a kid in a candy store," he said.

This is the first year the Chiefs have set aside a Military Appreciation Day during training camp.
