(KANSAS CITY, Kan.) High school state wrestling tournaments in Missouri and Kansas are in the books, now some of the best wrestlers from northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri have a chance to flex their muscles on their rival state.

The 22nd annual KC Metro Classic Wrestling Dual features 28 wrestlers -- 15 of them coming off state championships from both sides of the border.

Three of those state champs come from the midland empire.

Benton's Tyler McNutt, Plattsburg's Dylan McClain and Lawson's Austen Eskew will compete in the KCMC.

"It's pretty cool, especially knowing that I finished the senior season with my teammates winning gold, and now I get to wrestle with my off-season teammates in another dual," McNutt said.

The Benton senior won state in Class 4 at 170 lbs, but will wrestle Dusty Williams of Gardner-Edgerton High School at 160 lbs.

Eskew is a back-to-back Class 1 state champ, with his most recent triumph coming at 220 lbs. He'll matchup with Mario Galvan of Shawnee Mission Northwest.

McClain posted a stellar 47-1 record on the way to a 195 lb state title in 2014. He meets up with Dalton Weidle of Ottawa High School at the KCMC.

The event will be held at the Kansas City Kansas Community College Fieldhouse March 11th at 6:30pm.
