Two St. Joseph High School Athletes Sign to Play in College

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Two St. Joseph high school athletes are realizing their dream to play in college.

Central's Nick Gutzmer will walk on to the baseball team at Northwest Missouri State University.

He'll complete for playing time at first base.

The Indians senior hit .444 on the season with 2 home runs and 34 RBI.

He also carried a 4-2 record with a 3.71 ERA on the mound.

Meanwhile, Bishop LeBlond's Morgan Steele signed to play golf at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa.

The LeBlond senior was a two time state qualifier in golf and was the first player to go to state in the history of the program.
