(MANHATTAN, Kan.) Savannah graduate Blake McFadden made the biggest start of his young career Sunday, albeit short-lived.

Head coach Brad Hill gave the freshman the ball to start Kansas State's Regional Championship Game against Arkansas. He lasted only 1 2/3 innings, giving up the only three Razorback runs of the game, but avoided the loss.

The Wildcats rallied to defeat Arkansas 4-3 to advance to the first Super Regional in program history.

McFadden (6-2) struck out a pair, walked one, and gave up five hits in his outing while his ERA ballooned to 4.40. Gerardo Esquivel (2-2) picked up the win through 4 1/3 innings of work.

Kansas State (44-17) went unbeaten through the Manhattan Regional and will face Oregon State in the Super Regional in a Best-of-3 series.
