(TROY, Kan.) When the playoffs in Kansas 2A get rolling on Friday, it will mark the return to the postseason for the Troy Trojans.

In the two previous seasons, Troy had a combine four wins, but they finish the 2013 regular season with a 6-3 record.

Friday's contest against McLouth will be the Trojans first playoff appearance since 2009. That was the final time in a seven year stretch that Troy was in the postseason.

The Trojans are led by first year head coach, and alumnus of the school, Derek Jasper. He says the community has been looking forward to getting back to this point.

"It used to be commonplace that Trojan football would be in the playoffs every year, and I think it began getting taken for granted that we were just going to be in the playoffs. After four years of not being in the playoffs, there's a little bit more excitement than there normally would be that we're back, and have a chance to make another run."
