(COLUMBIA, Mo.) Missouri has accepted a bid to play Oklahoma State in the Cotton Bowl at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Jan. 3.

The Tigers' hopes of a possible BCS National Championship berth or a trip to any BCS Bowl were ended in a 59-42 loss to Auburn in the SEC Championship Game on Saturdy.

Missouri (10-2) finished eighth in the final BCS Standings released Sunday night. This is their third trip to the Cotton Bowl, the last resulting in a 38-7 win over Arkansas. Similar to this year, top-ranked Missouri, then still a Big 12 member, lost the conference championship game to Oklahoma, knocking them out of the national championship.

Oklahoma State (10-2) finished 13th in the standings after a 33-24 loss to Oklahoma in the Big 12 Title Game.
