(TAMPA, Fla.) After getting his first taste of NFL regular season football in Green Bay, Michael Hill is moving to the NFC South for his next shot.

The St. Joseph native was signed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers active roster from the Packers practice squad.

Hill didn't log a carry in two games with Green Bay, but returned a kickoff 19 yards in a 19-17 win over Baltimore. He now joins a team that's suffered multiple setbacks in the backfield.

Doug Martin, the number one running back on the depth chart, suffered a torn labrum in week seven and will miss the rest of the season. Mike James also went to the injured reserve with a fractured ankle.

Hill joins Brian Leonard and Bobby Rainey on the active roster. Leonard and Rainey have combine for just 135 yards on 37 carries this season.

The San Diego Chargers brought Hill in as an undrafted free agent prior to the season. He had 60 rush yards on 21 carries and caught two passes in the preseason. The Packers signed the rookie running back to the practice squad September 2nd after San Diego waived him.
