(SPRINGFIELD, Mo.) For the second consecutive year, Missouri Western is back in the MIAA Championship.

The Griffons clinched a berth in the title game with a 5-2 victory over Central Oklahoma Friday afternoon.

Senior Jake Jones shut the Bronchos down allowing just one earned run and striking out seven in six innings of work to pick up his seventh win of the season.

UCO crossed the plate in the first on an RBI single, but Missouri Western reeled off five unanswered runs from the fourth through the seventh innings.

Ryan Degner, Dylan Koch and Mitch Thorman each had three hits apiece along with an RBI.

Mason Queen gave up one run on three hits in the final three innings to close the door on the Bronchos.

Missouri Western -- unbeaten so far in the MIAA Tournament -- meets up with Emporia State at 11am Saturday. The Hornets must beat the Griffons twice in order to claim the conference title.
