The Griffons began the classic with a win over William Jewell College Friday, but couldn't shut down the Mustangs sharp shooting. Midwestern (4-0) shot 50-percent from the field and 45-percent beyond the three-point line in the game.
Cortrez Colbert and Cedric Clinkscales led Missouri Western shooting 7-10 from the field and finishing with 18 and 17 points, respectively. Adarius Fulton was the only other Griff in double-figures with 10 points.
Midwestern State dominated in the paint outscoring Missouri Western 38-16.
The Griffons will be off until next Saturday, November 23rd when they play at Illinois Springfield. Missouri Western has three non-conference games left before MIAA play begins.
