Missouri Western snapped a six-game losing streak Monday evening with a 55-46 win over Nebraska-Kearney. The Griffons (5-6, 1-4 MIAA) held the Lopers scoreless for the first seven minutes of the game and just 20.9-percent shooting from the field. Missouri Western forced 26 UNK turnovers, and scored 19 points off of them. Sharniece Lewis and Lanicia Lawrence each had eight points for Western in the win. Tiara Hall finished with seven points and 13 rebounds.
UNK men 82, Missouri Western 89
The Griffs got back in the win column for the first time since a victory over No. 15 Fort Hays on December 7th. Missouri Western dispatched Nebraska-Kearney 89-82 Monday night at the MWSU Fieldhouse. Ryan Devers led the Griffons scoring a career-high 35 points on 10-17 shooting and 12-15 from the free throw line. As a team, the Griffs shot 53.8-percent from the field and 41-percent from three-point range. Devers, along with Dareon Jones and Charlie Marquardt, pulled down six rebounds in the contest.
The Missouri Western basketball teams next game is Wednesday at Emporia State.
