(PARK CITY, Kan.) Former Missouri Western standout Ben Pister nearly earned another championship in his first season with a new club on Saturday.
Pister's Salina Bombers fell just short of capturing the Champions Professional Indoor Football League Champions in their first year of existence, falling to the Wichita Wild 47-34.
The ex-Griffon recorded one tackle in the loss, bringing his total to 17 along with five sacks through six games with the Bombers, who finished 10-4.
His best performance came in last week's semifinals win over Sioux City in which he led the squad with seven tackles and 2.5 sacks.
The Central High School graduate was named First Team All-MIAA last season, picking up a Western-record 22.5 tackles for loss in an MIAA Championship season.
