Lubach went 1-2 with a walk and RBI in his first game back. He hit .282 with 3 home runs and 27 RBI in his junior season at Nebraska. It was Lubach's first walk-off RBI since his Cornhusker baseball team beat Ohio State 7-6 in the Big Ten Tournament last May.
Brandon Baker allowed one run and struck out five in a complete game victory. He's given up 11 earned runs in his last seven starts.
Ryker Fox earned his eighth win in game two against the Diamond Spirit, as the Mustangs finished the doubleheader with a 5-2 victory.
Two runs came across against Fox in six innings, both unearned, lowering his ERA to 0.91.
Trailing 2-0 in the fourth, Trent Hill led off with a double and scored on an errant pick off throw.
Lucas Powers doubled home a run and Ryan Abernathy added an RBI single to put St. Joseph ahead 3-2 in the fifth inning.
The Mustangs scored two more unearned runs in the sixth to add some insurance.
St. Joe's lead over Chillicothe in the North Division standings is up to two games.
The Mustangs final regular season home game is coming Saturday night against Clarinda.
