(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Dixon Marble shut down Omaha Saturday night for his first complete game with St. Joseph in a 11-1 win.
Marble surrendered just one hit through the first six innings. He gave up just one earned run on three hits, and added five strikeouts. The Arkansas Pine Bluff pitcher is now 3-1 in 2013 for the Mustangs (20-13).
St. Joseph broke the game open in the fifth inning scoring five runs, and added five more in the sixth.
Zac Johnson delivered the biggest blow in the fifth with a double down the left field line scoring Carlos Rodriguez and Jeremy Monty. Johnson finished the night with four RBI.
Connor Foreman also had a two-hit game with two RBI for the Mustangs, who have won three of their last four and are half a game back of the Clarinda A's for first in the MINK North Division.
Eric Swain finished the night 3-4 with a run scored to raise his average to .333.
The Mustangs face the Diamond Spirit again Sunday with a 7pm start in Omaha.
