(St. Joseph, MO) The scenario played out exactly how Jonathan McCann drew it up.
The Mustangs offense provided 10 runs on 11 hits, giving the first time starter breathing room to throw strikes in a 10-0 blanking of the Generals in game one of a Friday night doubleheader.
McCann, normally a gun out of the bullpen, was starting in place of scheduled starter Adam Maddox, who was forced to miss his turn in the rotation dealing with a family emergency.
The former Central Indian made the most of his debut start, tossing six scoreless innings, and tallying five strikeouts.
