The Mustangs lose 4-3 despite leading for seven innings and a strong performance by Evan Vinyard, and entering the eighth inning with a 3-1 lead Tuesday Night at Chillicothe
St. Joe entered the eighth inning leading 3-1, but the first six Chillicothe batters reached base which brought closer Caleb McClanahan in from the bullpen, but the damage was already done and the Mustangs dropped their second in a row, and now trail the season series against Chillicothe 4-1.
Evan Vinyard pitched five innings and struck out nine, while allowing only 1 earned run, but was denied the win.
Tony Jandron and Johnny Coy each had two hits for the game and Spiker Helms increased his hitting streak to six games. Kreed Kurtz also had an RBI double for the Mustangs.
Caleb McClanahan entered in the 8th inning to close out the game.
Mike Parker (1-1) took the loss for his one-third inning pitched while Craig Petty (2-0) picked up his second win of the season for the Mudcats.
