(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The Mustangs ended a brief, two-game losing streak Friday shutting out North Kansas City 2-0.

St. Joe (20-8, 13-7) is the first MINK League team to reach the 20-win plateau.

For 23 innings, the Mustangs offense was absent. The team hadn't scored a run since the seventh inning Sunday night in Clarinda.

The scoreless streak ended Friday night despite recording just three hits.

Kyle Richards reached on an error in the fourth, and, after advancing to third on a pair of groundouts, came around to score on Mike Sherburne's ground ball that bounded over the shortstop's head for a single.

Nick Sebastian walked and later scored on a double play ball in the fifth to open a two-run lead over NKC.

Jeremiah Figueroa improved to 3-1 pitching six shutout innings, allowing only four hits, three walks and four strikeouts.

Grant Gavin pitched around two hits in the ninth to record his first save of the season.

Sherburne, Joe Koerper and Zac Johnson were the only Mustangs with hits Friday, each finishing 1-3 at the plate.

The Mustangs look to string back-to-back wins together at Phil Welch Stadium with a MINK game against Ozark Saturday.
