The St. Joe native dropped in his second base hit of the game scoring Nick Sebastian to end the marathon game 3-2 in favor of the Mustangs.
St. Joseph's won back-to-back games at Phil Welch Stadium. The MINK North Division leaders have two more contests left in their four-game homestand.
The Mustangs (23-10, 14-9 MINK) put runners on throughout the game collecting eight hits against the Ban Johnson All-Stars, but they stranded 14 runners on base.
"When you have the pitching staff throwing well, it makes it even more frustrating," Powers said of the team's struggles with runners on base. "You just want to get them hits, get them runs. Make it a little easier on them, but we finally got it done and it was a lot of fun."
The St. Joe pitching staff delivered once again while the bats continued to search for that big hit.
Dixon Marble served up his longest outing of the season Thursday night. The starter allowed two earned runs in 7 2/3 innings, but landed the no-decision. Blake Kolons earned his first win of the season tossing 5 1/3 scoreless frames in relief.
