St. Joe (4-0) won a low-scoring battle 3-0 in the first game, and pulled away late in the second for a 6-1 win.
Jeremiah Figueroa tossed a gem keeping Spooner scoreless in five innings, giving up just four hits and striking out five in his first start.
Joe Koerper contributed a RBI single in his first at-bat of the summer to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead. Ryan Abernathy drove in another in the fourth, and Nate Winfrey scored an unearned run in the fifth.
The scoreless innings streak for St. Joseph starting pitchers ended in the latter game.
After shutting opponents down for 21 2/3 innings, Miles Gully surrendered a run with two out in the fourth. The Bandits recorded two hits, then three consecutive walks off Gully to finally crack the scoreboard.
Tied at one in the fifth, the Mustang offense kicked it into gear.
Andrew Standifer drove in the go-ahead runs with a bases loaded single, and another came home on an Abernathy hit to give St. Joe a 4-1 lead.
Gully turned the ball over to the bullpen in the fifth to finish the game. Grant Gavins tossed two scoreless innings with four strikeouts, and Jon Pomatto picked up two more strikeouts in the seventh.
Standifer finished the night going 3-7 with two RBI and a run scored in the doubleheader. Abernathy went 3-6 with two RBI, while Koerper picked up four hits and drove in a run.
MINK League play for St. Joseph begins Friday night when they face Joplin.
