(JOPLIN, Mo.) Mustangs' relief pitcher Jace Anderson delivered three scoreless innings of one-hit ball as St. Joseph beats Joplin 8-5 in the two teams final meeting of the regular season.
Redmond Floyd pitched six innings for the second straight outing, but gave up five runs -- four earned -- before exiting the game.
Anderson picked up his first win of the summer striking out five in the appearance.
Down 5-4 in the seventh inning, the Mustangs (8-5) tied the game on Kris Koerper's RBI single scoring Zac Johnson. Kyle Simpson followed with a RBI ground out to give St. Joseph a 6-5 lead.
Emilio Villanueva added an insurance run reaching on an error in the eighth inning. Kyle Richards scored to give St. Joe a two-run lead.
Villanueva later scored on Connor Foreman's double.
Foreman was the only Mustang with a multi-hit game going 3-5 with two RBI and two doubles.
Simpson was 1-4 with three RBI in the contest.
The Mustangs return home Wednesday night for their first contest of the season with the Chillicothe Mudcats.
